MySQL ODBC Driver Fails with Error 1918.Error installing ODBC driver MySQL ODBC 5.2 ANSI Driver.

When you try to install the MySQL ODBC driver version 5.2.6 you may find that you receive the error

Error 1918.Error installing ODBC driver MySQL ODBC 5.2 ANSI Driver

This is because the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package must be installed

32bit version

    I've tried every combination of the above 'solutions'. None of them worked. Why not make installation software that works or at least correctly identifies the problem! I really hate to flame, but this is just so infuriating... wasting hours and hours for something that should be easy.

When you start the trivial FTP (TFTP) server application TFTPD32 or TDTPD64 you may see the following error Bind error 10013 An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions. This can be because another application is using this port. Windows Server 2019 desktop icons such as My Computer, Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file.

In Windows Server 2019 you may notice that the desktop icons such as My Computer are missing, however when you goto Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings You see the error Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
