How do you create and manage your IT and network documentation? This can be a time consuming task that some system administrators attempt manually whilst others use an array of tools. How do you ensure consistency between the documentation created in a heterogeneous system? How do you make the VMware, Hyper-V, Unix and SQL systems documentation all have the same look and feel? How do you secure the information? Find out what is connected to a switch port

When your network is in crisis it's important to know what devices are connecting to which network ports on a switch without having to physically visit the data room and check the labelling on the cables, or worse follow the cables to their destination. With XIA Configuration Server Network Documentation Tool  no only do you have the ability to see the MAC addresses of the connected devices but the system automatically locates these devices in the CMDB and displays information about that item. Can't drag and drop on Windows 8 when using VMware workstation

If you like me have been having problems with drag and drop suddenly stopping working then please find this simple solution. This doesn't relate to the UAC issue where you can't drag from one Windows running as Administrator to or from another Explorer window not running as administrator but when the ability to drag files suddenly stops working. It seems that this is caused when an application such as VMware workstation locks this function out. As I found from the post below, the simple fix is to just hit the escape  key. http://forum.thewindowsclub.com/windows-8-management-support/34278-weird-windows-8-drag-drop-problem-can-t-drag-drop-files-folders.html Hope this helps! ...Why not check out our  Automated user provisioning  application?
