Amazon VAT Invoice

When you buy business related items from Amazon you may find it quite difficult to get a VAT receipt or invoice from them.

It seems that Amazon does indeed charge VAT to the EU and uses the normal rate of UK 20% VAT when you are browsing the site. The VAT is then altered when you goto the purchase page if required for the country you are shipping to.

The print order summary is not a VAT receipt though I'm not sure why.

A couple of potential solutions are...

Create an account for company use only and register that login with the company's VAT number which you are able to do on the following page
http://www.amazon.co.uk/VAT_registration

Request the VAT receipt by contacting Amazon directly
